Third year University of Exeter Renewable Energy students visited Guernsey for ten days in the later part of May 2013 to study Guernsey’s current energy sources and uses, and Guernsey’s renewable energy potential.
Forty-six students divided into teams to study offshore wind energy, onshore wind energy, wave energy, biofuel potential, energy from waste, solar energy, energy storage, and the potential for Guernsey to electrify its transport system.
The team leaders gave presentations on their research results at Beau Sejour Leisure Centre on the morning of 28 May 2013.
The students have published their research for the States of Guernsey Renewable Energy Team in two papers.
The ‘Guernsey Energy Analysis and Strategy Recommendations to 2050′ Part 1 and Part 2 can be downloaded from the Working with Universities web page of the Guernsey Renewable Energy Commission website.
